1. Corporate Email Verification & Zero-Plaintext Guarantee
When you verify your current employment to earn a Blue Tick Badge (e.g. Verified Google Engineer, Verified McKinsey Consultant), you receive a one-time cryptographic OTP sent to your work email (@company.com).
- Your work email is immediately hashed using SHA-256 with a unique salt.
- Your raw work email is NEVER stored in plaintext in our database.
- Your corporate email is NEVER displayed publicly or shared with recruiters, employers, or third parties.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide an authentic interview preparation platform:
- Account Data: Username, display name, personal login email, and securely hashed passwords (using industry-standard bcrypt).
- Professional Profile Data: Role name, current company, years of experience, and your optional public LinkedIn profile URL.
- User-Contributed Content: Interview questions, target company, round tags, year asked, solution intuition, code/case walkthroughs, comments, and upvotes.
- Usage & Technical Data: Session tokens, IP addresses (used exclusively for rate limiting and preventing automated spam/scraping), and browser user agents.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to:
- Authenticate your account and serve login-gated full solutions.
- Calculate contributor XP and award reputation badges in the community leaderboard.
- Display verified employment badges based on verified company domains.
- Facilitate mutual referral introductions if you explicitly toggle the "Open to Refer" badge.
- Prevent duplicate voting, Sybil abuse, and content scraping.
4. Zero-Data-Leakage & Content Visibility
Our platform implements strict login-gating boundaries:
- Publicly Visible: Question titles, educational preview snippets, company tags, interview rounds, and author display names.
- Protected / Login-Gated: Comprehensive multi-approach solutions, optimal code, case math models, and follow-up discussion. These are strictly protected behind authenticated JWT access.
5. Third-Party Integrations & External Practice
InterviewPrepAI integrates optional partner links with Vriona (vriona.com) for live AI voice mock interview practice. When you click through to Vriona, your interaction is governed by Vriona's independent terms and privacy policy.
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023) and GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your account and associated personal data. To request account deletion or data export, contact us at:
